Mission

npGREENWAY envisions a trail system providing access to and along the Willamette River enveloping the north riverfront from the Steel Bridge in downtown Portland to Cathedral Park near the St. Johns Bridge.

Our goal is to link North Portland neighborhoods with the Willamette River for recreation and access to jobs. This expansion of the Willamette River Greenway will include a network of trails used for activities such as walking, running, cycling, skating, skateboarding, fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. The North Portland Greenway trails will connect with the existing Willamette River trail system serving residents and visitors throughout the region.

npGREENWAY is working collaboratively with community stakeholders to realize this goal.

When: Jun 11, 4:30 – 7:00pm

A Big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and joined us on the bike tour of the North Portland Willamette Greenway Trail. Approximately 35-40 people braved the threatening skys and created a great "bike convoy" down Greeley and Going Streets to Swan Island. We then continued down Basin Avenue and up the future Waud Bluff trail to soak up the breathtaking views back to the city.

Jim Kuffner from the University of Portland showed us their committment to the trail and we ended the ride at Willamett Cove.
New Vision Map
npGREENWAY has finished the second version of the visioning process for the riverfront trail. The full color map is available for download via Adobe Acrobat. We invite you to look it over and provide feedback to info@npgreenway.org. We received a lot of great feedback at the community meeting and are currently discussing how to integrate these ideas into the vision.
